In the late 1800s, most mattresses were made with readily available soft materials. Everything from horse mane hair to down and feathers was used to create a comfortable mattress. Recognizing this opportunity, Wolf began utilizing cotton as a comfortable and durable filling material for their sleep products.
As both Wolf and the state of Indiana experienced growth, the demand for superior mattresses increased, building them for furniture stores in Indiana, Ohio, and a little later for Michigan and Illinois. This growing demand prompted the establishment of the Wolf Bedding Company, which eventually evolved into the Wolf Corporation.
Wolf Corporation, initially a family-owned company spanning four generations, enjoyed a proud legacy.
