To avoid the misery of a cold, get some rest. A recent study published in the journal Sleep found that people who sleep less than six hours a night are more likely to catch a cold. According to an article on CNN, researchers tracked the sleep habits of 164 healthy men and women after exposing them to the rhinovirus. Those who slept less than five hours were four times more likely to catch a cold than those who slept seven hours. Only 18% of those who slept six or more hours got a cold, while 39% of those who slept less than six hours got the virus. As the cold and flu season approach, get the sleep you need!
